ACT actions for securing water supply and aquatic ecosystems
Being held on Tuesday afternoon from 1.30pm - 5.30pm
$10.00 for registered delegates (includes afternoon tea)
There are a number of initiatives being put in place to secure water for the ACT under a changed climate while protecting aquatic ecosystems.
This tour will visit:
• examples of some of the largest (non fishway) investment in fish habitat in Australia in the enlarged Cotter dam,
• a major recycling project to provide water from the Murrumbidgee into a section of the Cotter River for environmental benefits,
• a significant fish monitoring program,
These initiatives are a great example of where science is directly informing the development of policy and the management of our river systems.
