The 6th Australian Stream Management Conference – ‘Managing for Extremes’ will be held in Canberra in February 2012. We have chosen Canberra and the theme ‘Managing for Extremes” in response to two emerging elements in contemporary stream management in Australia; the increasing influence of the Australian Commonwealth Government in the field of river health and the impact of recent drought and floods on Australia’s stream systems and communities.

This conference will provide sessions in the following area's:

Floods, Fires, Policy and politics, Snowy River system, Murray- Darling River system, Environmental flows, Water quality, Vegetation management and Stakeholder engagement.
